This is just a quick update to tell you that my Facebook posts have all been taken down from my Facebook page. I expect my Instagram page will be next to go, given Instagram is owned by Facebook.
Why has this happened?
The page take-down is a result of bargaining between the Australian Government and Facebook about news publishing. Read more here.
I am not exactly sure why my page was a victim to the take down while many other politicians’ pages remain unaffected.
What happens now?
In the meantime, my Twitter page and my mailing list will be my primary means of communication.
My Twitter will remain just as (if not more) active – you can follow me at @MarkPearsonMP – and emails to my mailing list will become a bit more frequent. Don’t worry – I won’t bombard you!
Hopefully my page will be restored in the near future!
Will this affect your parliamentary work?
No. Nothing will change here at my office at NSW Parliament House.
Though it is frustrating to lose a key communication channel I have with supporters, it’s not the end of the world, and my parliamentary work will continue on as normal.
Can we still share your work?
Of course! I will make sure my email updates to you have social-media friendly graphics (like the one at the top of this email), and I invite you to share these animal updates from NSW Parliament to your own social media pages.
As always, thank you for your support – and for standing with me for animals.
